Good day to you all!
First off, we wanted to thank everyone who came by our booth at Salt Lake Gaming Con last weekend! We had a great time and got a lot of playtesting done. It was fun to interface with some of our backers and new people as well. We were stoked to see the game being received well by those who played it! If you made it to our booth let us know your experience with the game in the comments! Oh, and here’s a great pic of our booth at the convention:
This week has been interesting and a little hectic. First, we took some time off Monday due to working all day Saturday. Then, we were all pumped and ready to come in to work on Tuesday when we were informed that the power was out at our office because someone smashed through the power pole in front of our building the night before! The driver was allegedly high on meth. Needless to say but we were unable to come in to the office Tuesday either. Check out the story in the local news here! I think the moral of this story is what Alex told all of us after giving us the bad news, “Don’t do meth guys.”
Wednesday we prepared to move into our new office space, which meant moving furniture, getting the carpets cleaned, buying new furniture and other office supplies, etc. We also discussed playtesting results and how to address things going forward. Yesterday we were finally able to move in to our new space and it’s so much nicer than the cramped little room we were in before! We are still in the same building, even on the same floor, but we took over a larger space that was previously occupied. The walls look a little bare, but we are planning on putting up some posters of the great art from Middara. Check out these pics of the new office:
Stephanie is still hard at work on the rulebook, but in order to get it up to date she is actually working on the other assets, like cards, first so that she can import correct reference images into the rules document. She also decided to change the layout on equipment cards in part to help fit the text of longer cards, but also to better visually represent mechanics on the cards. It’s a really good change but it also takes time so the updated rulebook is farther off than we first estimated.
After the many tweaks and edits to the forest tiles (all for the better) Alex will be starting a new tile set next week. He’ll be finishing up the rest of the caves and then work his way into the swamps. We’ll post the final forests with final grids once we get them back from Stephanie.
That’s all for this week! Take care and remember, don’t do meth!!
